Thought I'd let everyone know the latest schedule on the retaining wall at the U S Bank is going to begin on Saturday, the !st (April fool's Day),when the stumps will be removed. Richard Rhydes will be supervising the removal progress.

Monday, Gerry Rawlings and Richard Rhydes will begin leveling and laying out the first course of the Manorstone retaining wall. Depending upon progress, weather, etc. once the base is in place the remainder of the wall will be constructed. Jim Short, Duane Folgham and Tom Rowland have offered to assist and will be called upon as necessary.

Hopefully the project will progress smoothly in a timely manner.

More later,

Gerry Rawlings

Status as of Monday on the US Bank project:

The base layer of Manorstone is in the process of being laid and should be completed by Tuesday and the second course begun.

Richard Rhydes and Tom Rowland assisted Gerry and were very helpful in getting the retaining wall started. Additional material is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday and hopefully the wall will be completed by that evening. Jim Short will be helping on Wednesday as will Duane Fulgham.

As a note, the Manorstone is being purchased from Hanson's and the crushed rock for base material has been donated by Landshapers.

Several Freeland residents slowed down to admire the progress and one very nice lady even delivered a cup of coffee to Gerry.

The garden experts will be needed when the retaining wall is completed since the soil adjacent to the wall needs to be weeded, roots and rocks removed, backfilled with good soil, and planted as per plan.

I think everyone will be very pleased with the final results.
