If we accept that sewers will be in place at least in the core commercial area and the Freeland Sub Area Plan (FSAP) has been adopted by the County, how do we address the following issue?
For the "Critical Areas" Working Group developing a "Vision" for this issue will require a lot of research.
* Start with information in the Freeland Sub Area Plan to set a baseline
* Look at what the County is doing today
* Use the web to look for what other cities and towns have in their comprehensive plans
* Look at the Greater Freeland Area and identify our critical areas
Then draft a "Vision" that will guide us in managing our Critical Areas.
Here are a few questions to consider:
- How do we best protect our wetlands?
- What is happening to our Harbor?
- What are we doing to protect wildlife habitat?

Managing Critical Areas - Does that Include Puget Sound?
Here's an article from the Seattle Times about Sound Waters, the one day university about the health of Western Washington's most critical area. I hope some of you were able to attend the event. I was out of town. Maybe next year.
