Our Purpose

The purpose of the Freeland Plan Community Group is to carry on the work of the Freeland Sub-Area Planning Committee (FSAPC) and the Freeland Vision 2025 Committee to create a comprehensive plan for Freeland that can be incorporated into the Island County Comprehensive Plan and which can be used to help achieve the desires of local residents and property owners regarding the way our community evolves over the next 20 years.

What We're Doing
And Ways You Can Get Involved

The draft Freeland Plan can be viewed at www.islandcounty.net/planning/freeland/docs.htm.  We can provide additional input as the Plan goes through the formal process of public comment and review and adoption by the Island County Planning Commission and, ultimately, the Board of Island County Commissioners (BICC).

Freeland Vision 2025 meets every other Tuesday from 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM at the Cameron Road fire station.  Join us if you are interested in a lively discussion of the many aspects of Freeland’s future.

We also use the Freeland Plan online conference for discussion. Everyone in the community is invited to participate.

Updates on the planning process will be posted here as they are received.

If you would like to be part of these activities or learn more about the Freeland Plan Community Group, call Steve Shapiro at 730-4266 or e-mail him.
